2 new coronavirus cases reported in Harris County

Austin American-Statesman - 3/5/2020

A man and a woman in Harris County have tested positive for coronavirus, joining a previously reported case in Fort Bend County on Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reported.

The two cases -- which have been verified by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control -- are travel-related, and there is no evidence the case was community-spread, Harris County officials said.

The news comes one day after a man in Fort Bend County, also in the Houston area, tested positive for COVID-19, the illness linked to the new coronavirus. The 70-year-old man had recently traveled abroad.
