Coronavirus in Oklahoma: State reports more infected with COVID-19 as numbers jump overnight

Mar. 15--The number of infected Oklahomans nearly doubled from Saturday as the Oklahoma State Health Department reports three new people tested positive for coronavirus.

Oklahoma now has four confirmed positive cases reported in the state, meaning each was confirmed by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

Three more people are now listed as presumptive positive and awaiting confirmation from the CDC.

OSDH also lists a new category on its official numbers. Two more people are listed as presumptive positive but also marked as "out of state residents."

So far Oklahoma has had 118 people test negative for the COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus. Twelve other people are still under investigation for possibly have contracted the disease.

On Friday OSDH received a shipment of 500 more coronavirus tests and said it was switching to CDC guidelines for testing which would allow clinicians to recommend testing for patients.
