PROVIDENCEThe pharmacy at the Providence VA Medical Center will refill prescriptions by mail-order only, the center said on Wednesday.

Emergency prescriptions -- including those ordered after a surgery, in the emergency department or upon discharge -- will still be provided on-site.

Veterans can request refills in three methods: calling the pharmacy at 866-400-1241, mailing in a refill slip or through the My HealtheVet website at www.myhealth.va.gov.

It takes seven to 10 days for prescription delivery.

Veterans can request expedited shipments or change routine medications from a 30-day supply to a 90-day supply by calling that number or visiting that website.
